[dipper absolutely did not expect to be approached by chie, and even less expected her to approach him about This subject, so he just kind of... stares at her blankly for a second.]

...Yeeeees? Why would I lie about that?

[well, to be fair, she was with him in the dark room last week and she was actively telling both him and omega they probably needed to get out of there...

... ugh, poor omega. her frown deepens as she tries to reconcile the fact that she'd just seen the other girl alive, face to face, and now...]

It's not that I thought you were lying, just—why do you keep going back there, specifically?

[... dipper hesitates for a second]

Uh, well... There's obviously something off in that room, right? That feeling, that you get, of being watched? And it gets worse the longer you stay in there? I want to know what's causing that.

[which is all very sensible and true, but the way he's looking away makes it look like that's not 100% of it]

[she's perceptive enough to notice his body language... she'll let it slide for now, though. at this point she's just like seriously boy who hurt you]

Fair enough, but... I don't know if that's a great idea? You saw what happened to Jake and Andersen after they tried going into places they shouldn't have gone in.

Yeah, I saw. Isn't that all the more reason we should figure out what's going on around here? They got hurt. Like-- really, really hurt. I've done this kind of thing before, I'm used to stuff that's weird or dangerous or, usually, both. If I've got the experience, why wouldn't I use it?

You've got a heck of a lot of bravery for a kid.

This is pretty tame compared to a lot of stuff I've done over the summer, in my opinion.

I meant checking out the dark room??? [chill, chie] The rest of this place is pretty bad. Mostly the fact that it's people doing all the messed up stuff.

Oh... okay, you got me there.

[look it's hard to tell the difference in this place like are you kidding me]

But still—at least we mostly know how to deal with people killing other people, minus the whole invisible weapons things. We don't know what'll happen when something like... a bunch of shadow monsters comes and gets you in the dark room.

That's why I was checking it out! I'd rather know what happens than be left in the dark. Literally. Not that I want to experience it myself. I'd rather not. Ever.

If only we could ask for a camcorder to put in there...

... On second thought, we don't need a real life version of Ringu or Ju-on. [visibly shudders]
