( week 2 ) saturday evening, heather
[so. that trial sure just happened. let's... leave that in the past.
what matters now is the present, and in the present they've decided on a guilty party. all that remains is choosing an executioner for tomorrow, and that's been left to a democracy as well... chie's going to at least check on the ones she's more familiar with. first stop, heather mason. wherever heather took off to post-trial, chie's followed a few steps behind. once they're separated from most of the group, she'll approach closer.]
I'm guessing you saw the new poll.

Could always ask Craftly, unless he's thinking that you'll trying to burn the place down with them.

[ in fact, he was the last person she wanted to see. she was one of the ones vying to kill him, even though she knew it wouldn't get them anywhere — she was just seeing red and wanted him dead. heather chooses to lean against the fence and sink to a crouch. ]
Honestly, I'm not sure I would trust myself not to burn this place down if given the chance.

[it's about what she'd expected from heather, to be fair. the sentiment is most likely not an uncommon one among the remaining survivors. even chie couldn't deny that she wasn't sure how she was going to last however many more weeks this charade was supposed to go on for.]
It's messed up that this is down to a vote, too, but... I really hope it doesn't end up being you. Or Dipper, for that matter, but. You know.

[ not that she minds. she's just not happy right now and is in a general bad mood. even when things should be better now, things continue to get under her skin. ]
I think.. I'm gonna vote for myself anyway. I dunno if those other guys could go through with it.

[her hands are folded in her lap; she's unsure of how to respond, because how do you in a situation like this? she's silent for a few seconds, before she just solemnly asks,]
Are you sure you can handle that, Heather?

[ she makes eye contact with chie at that. she's sounding dour — resolved. ]
If I have to, I have to. Sometimes you do what you have to do, shake it off, and move on.

That... sounded super badass. Like, I-I'm not making fun of you, I swear—I wish I was able to say stuff like that. To have that kind of mindset.

[ it's the reason she was alive — the reason alessa gave her another chance, the reason harry raised her the way he did. ]
Sorry. Not trying to get all Terminator on you. I'm just.. trying really hard to be strong now. Like you said, for everyone.
